Karama held a consultation meeting on using the CEDAW as a tool to advocate for women's rights. The meeting was held in Amman on the 10th -11th of December 2007. Participants from Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt attended the meeting and presented the experience of each country in submitting the shadow reports and activities took place in using the CEDAW.

Dr. lesely Ann Foster from South Africa was the guest of the meeting and she presented the case of South Africa and supported the participants with ideas on how to use the CEDAW.
